Martiniloben

The culmination of a Pannonian autumn in the area around Lake Neusiedl

„Martinloben” is the peak of autumn for the people of Burgenland. It is a time which sees cellar doors being opened, young wines being tasted and goose being served. Up until the 14th November there are a number of events going on around Lake Neusiedl and all over Burgenland. As well as enjoying local wines and traditional delicacies such as goose, you can visit exhibitions and lectures or take part in walks and excursions around the lake.

St. Martin is the patron saint of Burgenland and he is celebrated on the 11th November. In earlier times, this was the day when farmers moved their cattle into the winter stalls and winemakers tasted wines they had harvested only weeks before. This old tradition has become a huge celebration and this year over 250 wineries will open their doors to the public for tastings.

Safe and environmentally friendly
In addition to the usual public transport on offer, the “Martini Linien” will get you
safely from event to event while helping to save the environment. The “Martini Linien” will run from 5th-7th November and 12th-14th November and the Disco Bus from 6th – 13th November.
